Designed by Austin-based Miró Rivera Architects, Willow Beach, a nearly nine-acre estate located on Lake Austin, was finally sold in an off-market deal. Although the listing agents Michele Turnquist and Kathryn Scarborough of Engel & Völkers Austin declined to give the final amount the property sold for, it was listed for $38.9 million, almost $26 million more than the most expensive home officially on the market in Austin (which is priced at $12.9 million according to the Multiple Listing Service.) This would make the seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom custom-built luxury home by far the city’s highest residential sale on record. Willow Beach offers a multitude of notable features such as a remarkable European design with massive walls of windows, an infinity pool, a private lagoon and boat canal, and a guest house on the other side of the estate, which is connected by an award-winning metal pedestrian bridge that extends over the water.
